Te Manuka Tutahi Conference & Education Centre developed for Ngati Awa on the historic site adjacent to the proposed rested Wharenui Mataatua.

The site is of significant cultural heritage to Ngati Awa, being the original landing place of the waka Mataatua, and historic site of the Whare Wananga 'Te Manuka Tutahi'.
