While living in Sydney Australia between 2004 - 2006 Miles Heine worked at Sam Crawford Architects NSW.
The Cremorne House project is a sensitive modification in the framing of the lower level to create an extended living room and room for teenagers. The modifications fills left over space under a 1970’s addition to a 19th century sandstone cottage. The original rear sandstone wall of the cottage is evident in the new room.
Through the detailed use of steel and timber in the creation of an oversized 3m x 3m timber framed glass door - set within one of two large steel window frames help to create this open plan sapce.
The design allows the ability to slide the frame away and draw the bay into the room.
