PHILOSOPHY

McCOY + HEINE ARCHITECTS is a studio based, design focused practice, premised on the belief that good design of our built environment can have an effect for the better for everyone. The approach to each brief no matter what the size or complexity is derived from the idea that the best solution will come from a holistic approach to client objectives, site parameters, climate and design excellence.

Integral to the innovative design which McCOY + HEINE ARCHITECTS bring to all projects, is experience, knowledge and commitment to ESD (Environmental Sustainable Design) opportunities, and solutions. Director - Miles Heine is a Green Star New Zealand Accredited Professional, with the ability to guide all projects through the accreditation process should this be required. McCOY + HEINE ARCHITECTS are additionally passionate about developing the business case for green solutions in the commercial sector, as well as all other areas of the New Zealand built environment.

McCOY + HEINE ARCHITECTS believe that a complete vision of the future of the built environment is based on an understanding of the important role that social, economic and environmental sustainability has in bringing it into being.

COLLABORATION

McCOY + HEINE ARCHITECTS are skilled at facilitating collaborative design sessions, through an 'integrated design process', and see this as an important method in ensuring key stakeholder input and ownership is maintained throughout the process of all projects. This is a important when dealing with complex briefs, especially at the initial stages of Master-Planning, to ensure all aspects of the design brief are included in the project development.

McCOY + HEINE ARCHITECTS believe that 'relationships' are the backbone of all successful projects, whether this is the Client-Architect relationship, the Architect-Project Consultant team, or the Project Construction Team.
